Be Tricky – GHC Blog Circle

Welcome to my second Girl Hearts Camera blog circle post! I have been thinking an awful lot these days about work-life balance, it can be tricky! Between work, the kids school & related activities, running a business, ugh! There is so much to do and never enough time. I want to make sure that in the crazy hustle and bustle of life that I am authentically connecting with my husband and children. Here are my top three tips:

1) Maintain Family Calendar – My husband and I have a shared Google calendar that sync to both of our phones, seriously this is a lifesaver! It helps eliminate surprises, makes sure we both know what is going on with the kiddos and generally keeps the sanity.

2) Take a Minute – When I feel like things are spinning out of control and I will never finish that list of things to do, I just stop . . . take a deep breath and evaluate. I like to sit down with a cup of coffee and just think, what needs to be done, what can wait, and how can I best accomplish it all.

3) Have Fun! – Laughter keeps our household running smoothly, we giggle, snort, chuckle, guffaw, chortle and titter as often as possible in the moments in between. Take time to be silly and have fun!

I would love to know what you do to keep the balance!

  1. Fun pics!! I’m like you, when things get super crazy I just have to take a minute and wrap my head around it all. Mind sharing what app you use to link your phones?

    1. We set up a family google account but we only sync the Calendar, not the email (who needs yet another email address???) I have the iPhone & Hubby has a Droid, it works perfectly!

  2. Oh my! I love both the tips and the fun photos! Thanks for the reminders Jean! I find I tend to let life’s business sometimes get the best of me and I think just taking a moment to evaluate would help a lot to bring some perspective 🙂
