Maternity photography is a beautiful way to capture the magical time in a woman's life when she is carrying a precious new life inside of her. It's a time of excitement, anticipation, and love, and there's no better way to remember this special time than through photography.

Here are some tips to help you prepare for your studio maternity session:

Choose your outfits carefully

When planning your outfits for your studio maternity session, choose clothing that makes you feel comfortable and confident. Solid colors and simple patterns work well in a studio setting, as they create a classic and timeless look. I have a selection of beautiful gowns in the studio for you to choose from, or you can bring your own clothing.

Discuss your vision with your photographer

Before your session, we will discuss your vision. Let me know what type of look and feel you are going for and any specific poses or shots that you have in mind. This will help me tailor the session to your preferences.

Consider professional hair and makeup

Consider having your hair and makeup professionally done for your studio maternity session. This will help you look and feel your best and add a touch of glamour to your portraits. This beautiful mama's hair & makeup was done by my talented friend Lea of LBGorgeous.

Relax and have fun

Finally, the most important thing to remember during your studio maternity session is to relax and have fun. I will guide you through the process and help you feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera. Enjoy the experience and cherish the memories that you will create.

It was such an honor to photograph my sweet friend and hairdresser expecting her second little boy. We had so much fun during her session. She came to the studio alone and we did some intimate maternity portraits in some beautiful pieces from the studio wardrobe. Then her handsome hubby brought in Mr. Noah, who I photographed as a newborn. I love the energy of toddlers and we created beautiful, fun, and sweet images as a family. I can't wait to meet the little babe in her belly.

This Sacramento maternity session with Michelle is one of my favorites of this year so far. She wanted to document her third pregnancy with a beautiful, soft and intimate session. She loved choosing these beautiful pieces from the studio wardrobe. It does make your session a little less stressful when you don't have to figure out what to wear. Most of the gowns in my collection are perfect for maternity or non-maternity.

For mamas with a due date between now and August 31st enjoy a complimentary in studio maternity session with your booked newborn session. The small studio session includes a 25 minute session with 10 edited digital images and a 11x14 matted fine art print.
