A 1st-year cake smash session is a fun and memorable way to celebrate your baby’s first birthday! During the session, your baby will be presented with a cake and encouraged to smash and play with it while I capture the moments during your Sacramento Baby Photographer Cake Smash session. Here are some things you can expect:

Before we get into the messy part, I love to start the session with some simple portraits, including parents in these can help babies feel at ease, so come to the studio in a cute outfit, just in case! I love these snuggly photos of Baby E and his parents.
Once we present the cake to your little one, I will give them about five minutes to explore it. Not every little one is excited about cake, so I recommend bringing along some of their favorite small treats like O’s or puffs that we can hide in the frosting to tempt them. Little E jumped right in and loved his cake!
Every Cake Smash baby session also includes post-smash bath photos. Honestly, this is the part every little one enjoys the most. We will allow the baby to play, smile, and splash while getting any remaining frosting so you can take your little one home squeaky clean.
